The Incredible String Band split in 1974 was the starting point of the solo careers of both their leaders. Mike Heron went into the rock scene, while Robin Williamson took the celtic harp as his main instrument and soon became one of the biggest reformists of the traditional British music. For decades, many fans of Robin have been waiting him to take his acoustic guitar again and find out how his talent as songwriter and interpreter has remained the same.In the summer of 2007, Catalan label Quadrant propposed Robin recording an album like this, where the song concept stays higher than anything else and the instrumental pillars are acoustic guitar and vocals. Luckily Robin accepted, and "Just Like The River And Other Songs With Guitar" is the result of it. The album contains a good number of new songs, some new versions of old material, and great cover versions of Dylan and Jagger/Richards. Robin sings, plays acoustic guitar, bass drum, harp and also the organ on "Song For Bina", a psychedelic track that closes the album. The album is released on CD and also in a 500 limited deluxe vinyl pressing in 180g vinyl and gatefold cover.
