In 1980 debut album "80 Tage auf See" of Punk/Post Punk/New Wave band DER MODERNE MANN from Hannover was released on No Fun Records. John Peel played the Track "Gib mir den Tod" in nine(!) consecutive shows, the local and national press was enthusiastic about the band. Close to Gang Of Four, Josef K., Slits, The Ruts or Mittagspause, the album with its reduced, humorous, seemingly trivial German lyrics and the idiosyncratic vocal style of Ziggy XY represents an independent and essential contribution to the German New Wave. On the occasion of the band's 40th anniversary, the LP will now be re-released by Rockers Records, three more songs of first single "Umsturz im Kinderzimmer" are now included as bonus tracks.
