Think about Eskorbuto's "anti/todo" motto becoming not just an slogan but a full gospel in the hands of five suited/up punks. The A/side contains 10 tracks of raw 80's hardcore in the vein of Spanish and Italian traditions< think about Anti/Dogmatikss and Eskoria/Tza in one hand and Indigesti, Negazione or CCM in the other, plus some NYHC circa 2 like The Mad, Kraut and Heart Attack, some Deep Wound and tons of Void. The B/side contains a remix of all the tracks of the A/side in the form of a couple of dark electronic tracks courtesy of Hagal, of Destino Final-s fame. Sleeve designed by Oriol Roca who captures the con... + INFO
After two 7" singles (on Sacred Bones and Toxic State), a flexi and demos galore, Nuke York's ANASAZI finally unleash their debut album on La Vida Es Un Mus in Europe and Toxic State in America. 'Nasty Witch Rock' comes from the dirty, rotten and seedier side of New York. The album is built on raw energy, passion and intensity. The sound is blown out with distorted and echoey guitar work akin to Fire Of Love era GUN CLUB , pounding tribal drum patterns and a vocalist who oozes violence and desperation. If you have 'In The Flat Field' era BAUHAUS, TSOL or CHRISTIAN DEATH in your collection or loved it when the ... + INFO
Formed in August 2015 Glasgow-s ANXIETY have achieved quite a reputation locally thru their stage presence. A fully formed band which radiates personality from the very first play and is not afraid to look at hardcore punk from outside the box. This their first release sees the band delivering nine tracks of discordant hardcore with layers and layers of distortion and vocal effects in barely 20 minutes. The entire atmosphere of the record is hectic and oppressive with quite existential lyrics creating an overall feeling of uneasiness and internal confrontation pivotal to understand the band. The record comes housed in ... + INFO
4 Track EP Wild Life was recorded in the aftermath of Anxiety's debut self/titled release and is sharp/er but messier, more dystopian, bloodier and more viscous. Wild Life is drowned in distortion and short delay, cut out alive from a drain in the poorest, dirtiest bathrooms of short term tenancy Glas/gow. Driven by all/consuming bass riffs, the guitars are obliterated by distortion, the vocals off the hook, one/take, warts and burps. The snare a morse code reminding you you've nowhere to go.
ARCHAIC is a new project based between Berlin, Venice and Barcelona. This debut three track EP is a rusted nail of intense hardcore with industrial undertones which sits somewhere between FOGNA and DESTINO FINAL but with a bigger production. Guitar layers of repetition create a bed of noise when the delay infected vocals lay painfully. Someone called it the NWOIH and I won't be the one saying that isn't the case.
